Queens of Distinction is a transformational debutante experience created for high school juniors and seniors who are preparing to enter one of the most important transitions of their lives.
Because preparing her for the future requires more than academics.
It requires confidence, character, emotional intelligence, leadership, sound decision-making, and practical life skills.
Through mentorship, personal development, meaningful experiences, and real-world preparation, Queens of Distinction helps young women develop the confidence to know who they are, make healthy choices, advocate for themselves, pursue opportunities, and step into adulthood with greater readiness and purpose.

The Queens of Distinction experience is guided by our signature CROWNED™ Framework, a whole-young-woman approach to preparing debutantes for the opportunities, decisions, relationships, and responsibilities ahead.

Cotillion Ball
The Cotillion Ball is anelegant culmination of the Queens of Distinction Debutante Program—a memorable celebration honoring each debutante’s growth, accomplishments, confidence, and journey toward becoming a purpose-driven young woman.
About The Founder
Valerie Nance is the Founder and President of Queens of Distinction Debutante Foundation, Inc., and the Founder and Director of The Eastern School of Etiquette. A Certified Etiquette Coach and Certified Transformational Life Coach, She has devoted more than two decades to helping girls and young woman develop confidence, character, poise, and purpose.
Valerie held her inaugural debutante program and Cotillion Ball in 2005 (Photo Below) and relaunched the program in 2023 (Photo to the Left) with a renewed vision for preparing young women for life beyond the ballroom. Drawing upon her expertise in etiquette, leadership, psychology, and personal development, she incorporates emotional mastery, self-worth, social confidence, leadership development, and modern etiquette into each debutante’s journey.
Valerie founded Queens of Distinction Debutante Foundation, Inc. to broaden the program’s impact and provide young women with meaningful support that extends beyond the Cotillion Ball. Through ongoing mentorship, leadership opportunities, and a growing Alumni Network, graduates are encouraged to remain connected, mentor future debutantes, serve their communities, and continue growing into confident, emotionally intelligent, and purpose driven leaders.
Valerie believes etiquette is the tool, but a confident, capable, and purpose driven young woman is the outcome.
